Hi there!

My name is Reynaldo Obrero and I’m a Southern California based wedding, portrait, event, and commercial photographer.

First off, I have to be honest with you. I was the unlikeliest of photographers. As a tech-obsessed, gadget loving, classically trained medical practitioner, and father of two amazing kids, becoming a photographer was the farthest thing from my mind. I started taking photos with an iPhone 4S which began my discovery and journey into the art of photography. Receiving recognition of my images on various websites and social media, I then picked up my first DSLR camera nearly a decade ago. Since then, I was further propelled into the world of portrait, event, and commercial photography. Some of my personal work has even been published by the Los Angeles Times. A few of my current commercial clients include the University of Southern California, H.E.A.R. Center of Pasadena, and Vulcan-Innova Watch Winders, just to name a few.

I continue to strive to look for the extraordinary in the ordinary, shape the light to illuminate the darkness, and capture the beauty which is in all of us. I reconcile my two worlds of medicine and photography by proving that the real art of both lies not in the technicality, but in the emotion, the people, and the passion. In my continued pursuit of improving my art, I recall another quote: “And, when you want something, all the universe conspires in helping you to achieve it.” The universe has responded so graciously, and I hope you will too.
